Thanks to the difficulty trophies now stacking unlike the original HD collection, you have two options to approaching this : The content presents enough difficulty to leave a fair challenge, but not enough to cause frustration, making the an enjoyable journey. Jimmy's Journal must be filled up once again, the (many) side bosses must be defeated, Olympus Coliseum cups must be won and the game must be finished on the new Critical Mode difficulty. Players of the original Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in the previous HD collection will notice many similarities in the trophy list – Gummi Ship missions return, despite being much easier this time around and not all of them must be completed. Much like the trophy lists for the two titles in the HD 1.5 ReMIX, the trophy list in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix does the game justice by having the player explore and complete just about all of the main and side content the game has to offer. With an engaging story, a vastly superior battle system, more new Disney worlds to explore and much more side content thanks to this being the previously Japan-exclusive Final Mix version, if you missed the HD 1.5 ReMIX then this is the perfect starting point in the franchise for newcomers what with it being regarded as the best title in the franchise. The player is introduced to many new characters, we see more of the Organization XIII, and Sora goes on another adventure with Donald and Goofy. The first title you'll be sinking your teeth into is Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, which takes place one year after Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
